Although we both agree that reading books is highly beneficial, let’s be honest – finding the time to read can be difficult.

Personally, I try to read for a little while before bed to calm my thoughts and help me fall asleep faster.
I stick to this routine every night to avoid mindlessly scrolling through my phone.

The main advantage of podcasts and audiobooks is that I can listen to them anywhere. For me, that means at the gym, while doing household chores, and during my daily commute.

They keep me entertained and help me stay focused, especially during mundane tasks like cleaning. The best part is that there’s so much to learn from them! So, without further ado, here are the top 10 podcasts every woman should listen to this year.

1. Mel Robbins “The 5 Second Rule: Transform your Life, Work, and Confidence with Everyday Courage

It covers a wide range of challenges we have when stepping out of our comfort zones and facing our fears. I highly recommend it to develop your courage and become more proactive and confident. I`m also a huge fan of Mel`s style. She`s like an older sister or friend sitting on a couch with me.

2. Jay Shetty “ Think Like a Monk: Train Your Mind for Peace and Purpose Every Day”.

This book offers a glimpse into the real stories and personal experiences of the author, who spent time as a monk. Through his narrative, he shares clear and simple tips for living a fulfilling life. His message is a powerful reminder that we can all find meaning and contentment in our lives with a mindful approach and a willingness to embrace our inner selves.

3. Mary Jelkovsky “100 Days of Self-Love: A Guided Journal to Help You Calm Self-Criticism and Learn to Love Who You Are”

I have been a fan of Mary since she released her first book, so I was happy to dive into this one. In this journal, she provides us with a daily dose of self-love!

In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to lose sight of who we are and what we stand for, especially as we go through different stages of life. However, it’s crucial to make time for self-reflection and continue to learn about ourselves. That’s where this book comes in – it’s a valuable resource that can help guide us on this journey of self-discovery.

4. Dr. Emily Morse “Smart Sex: How to Boost Your Sex IQ and Own Your Pleasure”

Sex is not an easy and popular topic to discuss, that is why this piece is so important. This book will broaden your understanding of the sexual experience, emphasizing the significance of communication with your partner. Most importantly, it aims to eliminate any feelings of shame associated with caring for your erotic life.

5.  Michelle Obama “The Light We Carry: Overcoming in Uncertain Times”

I was waiting for this one following her first book. It’s inspiring to see how authors like Michelle Obama can use their personal experiences to help others overcome challenges. Sharing her memories of overcoming difficult moments and providing useful tips on how to cultivate friendships, as well as tackle anxiety and fear, gave me the courage to be stronger whenever obstacles arise in my life.

6. Alicia Menendez “The Likeability Trap: How to Break Free and Succeed as You Are”

This book provided me with valuable tools on how to avoid the “likeability trap”. I learned that I cannot always choose to be both competent and well-liked by everyone. We all struggle with asserting ourselves, but thanks to the stories shared by the author, I now have a clear idea of who I want to become as an employee, without feeling the need to please everyone. This book would make a great gift for young women entering the workforce.

7. Tunde Oyeneyin “Speak: Find Your Voice, Trust Your Gut, and Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be”

You may know Tunde as a Peloton coach; trust me, her book is as energetic as she is in Peloton workouts.

“Embracing uncertainty empowers you to take risks. The beauty of uncertainty, I’ve found, is infinite possibility” is my favorite quote from Tunde that I tell myself whenever I’m having a hard time. This exceptional book is a source of motivation and courage to help you endure life’s challenges with unwavering strength and resilience.

8. Shonda Rhimes “Year of Yes: How to Dance It Out, Stand in the Sun and Be Your Own Person”

We all are familiar with Shonda`s talent right? Her work is a true masterpiece, both on screen and in the pages of her books. Through her writing, Shonda inspires her readers to embrace a mindset of openness and courageously seize new opportunities. She reminds us that the fear that often holds us back can be overcome. Shonda’s book is a powerful reminder that life is full of possibilities and that we can achieve greatness by opening ourselves up to them.

9.  Hannah Bronfman “Do What Feels Good: Recipes, Remedies, and Routines to Treat Your Body Right”.

I`ve been following Hannah on Instagram, so I was excited about this book.It didn`t disappoint me. This book is packed with delicious recipes and motivational advice to help you adopt healthy habits that fit your lifestyle.

10. Samantha Matt “Average Is the New Awesome: A Manifesto for the Rest of Us”.

I just finished it and I have to say, it’s a breath of fresh air. It takes a realistic approach to the kind of life most of us are living. The author shows us how to find joy in our average, normal lives without pushing ourselves to achieve more and more every day. The book is hilarious and well-written, almost like chatting with a wise friend rather than reading a self-help book.

All these books are my must-haves to listen to (or read) for this year. A good book is always a perfect gift idea, especially when you’re unsure what to get someone. Listening to a book while doing other things is a great way to multitask and make the most of your time.
It’s incredible how quickly time can pass when immersed in a good story.
