When my daughter approached me with the idea of hosting a sleepover, I instantly agreed. Yet, a wave of uncertainty washed over me. How do I make it memorable? What should I prepare? What if the activities don’t resonate with the girls? In some ways, it felt like my sleepover adventure too, if you catch my drift.
I was determined not to let the guests be bored, my daughter disappointed, and, of course, I wasn’t planning to break the bank 😉

So, get ready for a night (and morning) of chaos — I won’t sugarcoat it; it’s a bit wild! But you know what’s the silver lining? Someday, my daughter might have her turn at enjoying a sleepover at a friend’s place 🙂

Make sure everyone is fed

Let’s keep it simple and buy pre-made pizza crusts, cheese, ham, and tomato sauce. Let’s make it a fun activity by asking the girls to prepare their own pizzas. It will be a great way to start the night.
For a quick and easy snack, I suggest making some popcorn. You can even put it in cute baskets to make it more fun! Then juice and maybe some candy. Easy!

Breakfast ideas

Pancakes are a great option that everyone will enjoy, even those who are picky eaters. You can allow them to choose their own toppings or add maple syrup. You can also make some bacon on the side.

Fun activities

Let`s make this day unforgettable right?

  • You can suggest making friendship bracelets, which will keep them busy for a while.
  • Organize a manicure station.
  • Make them play with a slime set that includes glow-in-the-dark stickers.
  • Let them pick their own glitter tattoos.
  • For some added creativity, they can use this paint-by-numbers set to draw.
  • This one might require your assistance, but allowing your guests to make their own tie-dye shirts will provide them with a memorable souvenir to take home.
  • My daughter’s number one choice is the hair station where you can experiment with hair color and temporary hair extensions.
  • Kids love karaoke, there are plenty of karaoke videos available on YouTube.
It`s loud i know, but they will love it.
  • Organize a dance contest or ask them to learn some TikTok choreography.
  • I love outdoor activities. Of course, you need summer for most of them. If you are organizing a party during the summertime, Slip Waterslide can keep kids entertained not only during sleepovers.
  • For a cozy movie night, create an ambiance by turning off the lights and using a projector to display lights.
  • Organize a classic game of “Would You Rather”. Would you ratherbe a rat or a snake? Would you rather sleep in a tent or a cave?
  • Play “Who Am I,” each girl should have a sheet of paper to list five things they like and five things they don’t like. Then, they should fold up their list and put in a basket. A random list should be picked and read out loud, and everyone should try to guess who wrote it.
  • If you’re having trouble deciding on an activity, why not try making a lottery out of it? Simply write down several activity names on pieces of paper, fold them up, and put them in a jar. Then, have each guest pick
a paper. This will add some excitement to the beginning of the party.

Bed time

Now that the party is over and the guests are hopefully tired, it’s time for them to go to bed. If you want to make it fancy, you can create a tent village for them. Or, if you’re crafty, you can try doing it yourself. I decided to use foldable mattresses. They’re easy to store and I can reuse them anytime we have guests over.

You might be wondering how to get your kids to sleep. After all, they need to calm down first. But don’t worry,
I have a tried and tested method that I use for my kids — playing them audiobooks helps to soothe their emotions.

Audiobooks are undoubtedly a powerful tool for your kids’ development. While audiobooks can never replace the charm of physical books, they can be an excellent solution for certain situations, such as when your child needs to go to bed, and the lights are out. This method works wonders for both toddlers and teenagers, creating a peaceful environment before bedtime and enhancing their imagination. You should definitely give it
a try, and I highly recommend checking out Audible, which features a vast selection of audiobooks for both kids and adults.

I hope your sleepover was a blast and girls had a great time.
